Privacy Policy

This is a courtesy translation; the Korean version prevails in case of any discrepancy.

Ushulang (the “Site”) is operated on a non-profit, informational basis to provide restaurant information for the Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongnam regions, and is designed so anyone can browse freely without signing up or logging in. As a matter of principle, the Site collects as little personal data as possible, and this policy is set out in the sections below.

1. Information we do not collect

The Site does not collect, store or transmit the following information.

• Identifiable personal data such as name, phone number, address or email
• Account information (there is no sign-up or login feature at all)
• Unique identifiers such as resident registration numbers
• Payment or financial information
• Your search terms or filter-selection history

2. Favorites (stored in your browser)

The favorites list you build with the heart (♡) button on a restaurant card is stored only within your own browser, in localStorage. The Site’s operator cannot know which user favorited which restaurant, and this information is never sent to the operator’s servers or anywhere else.

Your favorites disappear when you clear your browser’s site data (cookies and site data). Because there is no separate sync feature, switching browsers or devices means starting fresh with an empty list in the new environment.

3. Current location (the “Around me” feature)

When you tap “Around me”, your browser accesses your location (latitude and longitude) through the standard Geolocation API. The Site uses these coordinates only within your own browser, instantly, and solely to sort nearby restaurants by distance.

• The coordinates are never sent to the operator’s servers.
• The coordinates are never recorded in any database or log file.
• When you tap the button again to turn it off, or close the page, the coordinates are cleared from memory.
• Denying location permission does not affect your use of any other feature of the Site.

4. Automatically collected information

The Site may collect non-identifying statistical information through the analytics tools below. This is for statistical purposes — improving usability and understanding popular areas and times — and is not used to identify individual users.

• Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — page views, device type, browser, approximate region (at the province/metropolitan level), time on page and the like
• Vercel Analytics (when used) — performance metrics such as per-page response times

If you wish to opt out of GA4, you can install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or enable your browser’s “Do Not Track” feature.

5. Advertising (Google AdSense)

To help keep the Site running, a Google AdSense ad may appear at the bottom of the page (in the footer). AdSense may use cookies to serve ads relevant to your interests; for details, please see the Google advertising policy. You can turn off personalized ads in your Google Ad Settings.

6. Third-party external services

The Site uses the SDKs and links of the following external services to display maps and connect to directions. Once you click such a link and move to an external site, the handling of your personal data follows that service’s own policy.

• Kakao Map (Kakao Corp.)
• Naver Map (Naver Corp.)

7. Your rights

Because the Site does not collect identifiable personal data, there is no personal data subject to access, correction or deletion requests. To delete in-browser data such as your favorites, please use your browser’s “Clear site data” or “Clear cookies and site data” menu.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised in line with changes to laws or service policies, and any changes will be announced together with the effective date on this page.
